Whereas in Sims 4, I just feel like aging up the kids ASAP (which gets them out of the same age range as their peers, so that's a mess) because they feel pointless.Īnother huge problem is that Sims 4 has instanced lots. That's a lot of gameplay that's not related to adults. Then it's the teen years, where they might find a romance, go on dates, go to the prom, be rebellious and try to stay out late (then get caught and grounded). Then they become children, who can play with more stuff, and can play tag/ball with their parents or other kids, feeling like actual children.
Then they age into toddlers, where you can help them learn to walk, talk, use the toilet, and read to them, and they can play with toys (some of which help them gain skills). You can carry them around and put them down in places. Have to interact with the baby, even give it attention in the form of talking. Babies are an object that you barely interact with and certainly have no attachment to children limited in what they can do, even with the Kids Room Stuff Pack, especially in relation to doing stuff with their parents teens are young adults who they didn't even bother to resize and just replaced the term "Woohoo" with "Mess Around" but are basically just young adults who can't get careers yet. Pretty much everything in it is too easy, and there's no real consequences.
Sims 4 so far seems focused hardcore on young adults and the party life for well-off people. You deal with ups and downs, juggling relationships, have a family, raise the kids, stuff like that. My top problem with Sims 4 is that I tend to think of Sims games as "life simulator" games. Then I see that Sims 4 is also available, so clearly I'll like that, too! Grabbed it and the few packs available. I got a copy of Sims 3 with a couple of packs in a bundle a year or two ago, remembered it earlier this year, played it, got hooked, bought a bunch of other packs. This is my personal opinion, and I'm actually relatively new to the series.
